MK2 Real Estate has teamed up with local charity The Emily Jordan Foundation to install bug hotels at client sites around the country.

One of the Foundation’s projects, Twigs, provides skills training in gardening and horticulture for people with learning disabilities.

As well as growing and selling plants, the team at Twigs are taught woodwork skills, and hand craft the bug hotels that are now being installed at industrial estates owned by MK2 clients including IM Properties, Caisson IO, Barwood and Nottingham City Council.

Marcello Della Croce, who heads MK2's property management team, said: “The Foundation provides support and skills training for young adults and people with learning disabilities. It’s great to support their work, at the same time as encouraging wildlife onto industrial estates.”

Chris Jordan, founder and chair of the trustees of the Foundation, said: “We're grateful for the support of MK2. Our guys, who are from a very disadvantaged group in our society, get a huge sense of achievement when they see the products they have built being used to help the wildlife in our area. We look forward to working with MK2 into the future.”
