Specialist medical logistics company Medequip has taken a new 31,000 sq ft unit at Horizon 120 Business & Innovation Park, advised by MK2 Real Estate.

Medequip has agreed a seven-year lease on Unit 2 Hyperion, one of three units, totalling 160,000 sq ft, at the speculative logistics/industrial development, forward funded by CBRE Investment Management, and forming part of the 100-acre business park.

MK2 Real Estate’s lease consultancy team advised Medequip on the letting. Knight Frank and Coke Gearing acted on behalf of CBRE Investment Management. 

Medequip is a leading provider of community equipment services to councils and NHS Trusts across the country, operating from 30 depots nationwide. The new unit at Horizon 120 will be used to store and distribute a range of equipment, such as wheelchairs, adjustable beds and hoists, for the Integrated Community Equipment Loan Service (ICELS) contract for Essex County Council and its partners.

The new premises will also house a customer service centre and a workshop, where equipment is cleaned and refurbished before being put back into service.
