Thanks to all our clients and contacts who attended the ARTism exhibition MK2 hosted in conjunction with Resources for Autism (RfA), raising more than £900 for the charity.
The event was designed to showcase the talents of Birmingham’s young autistic community and the work of RfA, which provides services for autistic children and adults, their parents and carers, along with training for businesses to support autistic people in the workplace.
MK2 director, Paul Rixon, has an autistic son and has been an advocate for the charity. He said: “I’m pleased to be able to help promote RfA, not least because my family has benefited from their services.
“I’d also like to thank Colmore Birmingham for promoting the event to the Colmore business district community. As a result, a number of people dropped by, including one parent whose child had recently been diagnosed with autism. RfA were able to provide advice and signposting.”
Nick Drew, head of fundraising at RfA, said: “Thanks to MK2 and the landlord of The Exchange, Newhall Street, for hosting this event. We hope it will help foster understanding of the way autistic people see the world, and how workplaces can make simple changes to the office environment and culture to make the most of their unique talents and insight, tackling the crisis in autistic people’s employment.”
